They are Unique people. All people are unique, particularly when they can open their inner world and show the uniqueness that distinguishes them from other people. Then we get that sense of touching their souls and get inspiration for the future. We met such people - they are «Bright stars” among many others.

From 23rd to 30th of October 2020, the Association of Women with Disabilities called "Shyrak" organized the "School of Independent Living" for people with disabilities aged 18-40, living in Almaty. The main differentiation of this year's school is that the project has been supported by the TEN QOGAM training center for social support. Thus, the participants of the “School of Independent Living” can apply their new knowledge and skills right after the training.
The “School of Independent Living” took place in the mountain resort "Ak-Bastau", located in the foothills of the Zailiyskiy Alatau.
Within 7 days, participants were getting information from the best coaches in the following areas:
human rights and the application of these rights in everyday life;
foundations of non-discrimination of human diversity and equality;
developing critical thinking, developing leadership skills and unleashing personal potential;
skills of independent living and interaction in an inclusive society.
On October 25, the director of CIOM Gulzhan Alimbekova, together with Ainur Bakytzhanova, conducted practical training in a format of creative sessions for the “School of Independent Living” for people with disabilities aged 18 to 40 from Almaty. During this training, the participants prepared creative self-presentations, presented their own startup business projects ("My business"), and according to the final task, the participants wrote a letter to themselves in the future. Participants reconsidered and changed their position in a society, rethought an attitude in society towards disabled people. They achieved these changes through doing various tasks, revealing and realizing their creative potential and special opportunities. The inner worlds of the "Bright Stars" are open and shine. Their self-awareness, free self-expression in public, unique jokes and letters for themselves in the future, all these things warm any soul, and really motivate to overcome life's challenges.
